By using coldboreindex.com you agree to what's below. It's short and it's mostly common sense: we point at products, other people sell them, and the law where you live is your responsibility.
1. What this site is
Cold Bore Index is an independent editorial website. We research and hand-pick firearm parts, optics, and accessories, and we link to them at third-party retailers. We do not sell anything. We hold no inventory, process no payments, and ship no products.
2. We are not a firearms dealer
Cold Bore Index holds no Federal Firearms License (FFL) and is not a dealer, importer, or manufacturer. Every order you place is a transaction between you and the retailer. They take your payment, verify your eligibility, handle all regulatory compliance and any required FFL transfer, and ship your order.
All questions about orders, returns, warranties, defects, shipping, and cancellations go to the retailer. We cannot access, change, refund, or cancel any order.
3. Know your laws — this one is on you
Firearm and firearm-parts laws vary enormously by state, county, and city, and they change. Certain parts, magazines, and configurations that are legal in one place are prohibited in another.
You are solely responsible for knowing and obeying every federal, state, and local law that applies to you before you buy, own, build, assemble, modify, or transfer anything. You must also meet all applicable age requirements (generally 18+ or 21+ depending on the item and your jurisdiction). If you are unsure, consult a licensed dealer or an attorney in your area. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
4. Building and safety
Our build sheets and guides are general information written for people who already know their way around firearms. Assembling a firearm incorrectly can be dangerous or fatal. Some builds require headspace gauging, torque specs, or professional fitting.
If you are not completely confident in a step, stop and take the work to a qualified gunsmith. You assume all risk for anything you build, modify, or assemble. Always follow safe firearm handling practices.
5. Prices, availability, and accuracy
Prices, discounts, specs, and stock shown here are gathered from retailers and change constantly. Any price or figure on this site may be out of date the moment after we publish it. The price on the retailer's own product page is the only real one.
Budget figures in the build sheets are rough ballparks for planning, not quotes. We make no guarantee that any product is in stock, still offered, or priced as shown. We try hard to be accurate, but we do not warrant that anything here is complete or error-free.
6. Affiliate relationships
We earn commissions on qualifying purchases made through links on this site, at no additional cost to you. This is how the site is funded. We choose what to feature based on what we think is worth your money — not on who pays the most. See our Privacy Policy for how affiliate tracking works.
